the last month ...
...was really very exciting! we had very nice and cool concerts, like :
- the punk festival in oberhausen, where we played all songs in double time ;) ,
- the wonderful zytanien festival where we met "rainer von vielen" and spent a nice evening together,
- the experience at the sziget festival, wich was nice, but... we played in a space where there were not very much people... ;)
- the best festival/ tecnival ever: "fusion", where we spent all the days around our gig,
- the smallest concert room since long time at the sjz oerlinghausen,
- the best concert in our hometown cologne since long time together with the amazing KULTURSHOCK !!!
- the nice gig at hamburg together with the young and really nice "BLICKWINKEL" - punk with violine...

... we have changed in this site...! the navigation has changed, hopefully now with a little bit more overview... a shoutbox is now installed ... ;) and the flickr-account with actual pictures is integrated now. and for example the flickr badr in the sidebar will change randomly...;)

this was a really very nice and cool trip and experience through the chech republic with really amazing concerts and enthusiasthic people !!!
we did some filming wich will be on this site soon, also a one song film from wolongong.
we will be pleased to come again , maybe next time a tour also in slovakia, poland, lithaunia etc..., - even our bus is slow... ;)

GUTS PIE EARSHOT spielen instrumental. Und zwar nicht in der klassischen Bandbesetzung. Nein, die bestehen nur aus Drums und Cello.
Sie schaffen es mit ihrem Sound Klangwelten aufzubauen, pendeln zwischen Trauer, Melancholie und Verträumtheit auf der einen Seite sowie Kraft, Energie, Virtuosität und der Vertracktheit des Jazzpunks auf der anderen Seite.
GUTS PIE EARSHOT gehören zu den Bands, die es schaffen sich und den Hörer in einen Rauschzustand zu versetzen und für die Dauer des Songs in eine Parallelwelt zu entführen.
GUTS PIE EARSHOT schaffen das, was nur ganz wenigen gelingt: Sie beschreiten ihren völlig eigenen Weg abseits von Mainstream und Konformität. Das verdient großen Respekt. Ganz gleich ob man ihre Musik nun mag oder nicht.

in freiburg spielten wir ja am nachmittag unplugged auf und für eine aktion der "schattenparker"
( bauwagenplatz in freiburg, deren bewohner von dem grünen bürgermeister von ihren wägen enteignet wurden, und seit monaten keinen festen platz mehr haben, und immer noch auf die herrausgabe ihrer wägen warten!

jedenfalls... am abend führten sie nach dem konzert noch einmal ein stückchen auf und umgetextete weihnachtslieder ... eins davon spielte patrick mit... ;-)

"Guts Pie Earshot sind schon eine ganz besondere Band. Jüngst erschien ihr neuestes Album "Chapter Two Volume One“ in minimaler Bandbesetzung – nur noch Drums und Cello.
Aber was heißt da "nur noch“. Die beiden spielen sich in bester Punk-Art in Trance, hier geht es um freie Improvisation und Soundtrack-Attacken, Jazzmathematik und atmosphärische Klangcollagen.
Vertrackte musikalische Gegensätze treffen auf eingängige und sogar tanzbare Grooves. Hier werden ganz klar gängige Hörgewohnheiten ausgelotet und auf die Probe gestellt.
Diesem Test kann man sich nicht entziehen, ganz benebelt vor lauter Struktur und Konstruktion lässt man sich bei Guts Pie Earshot einfach fallen und treiben. Klassik und Virtuosität des Cellos werden auf Punkrock-Beine gestellt – Gegensätze ziehen sich an und implodieren bei dieser Band. Drum-Breakbeats und Stakkato-Cellostreicheleien sorgen für aggressive und tighte Momente voller Energie. "
